BEAUTY BRANDS AND PRODUCTS THAT ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE DURING BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH

Many of us have been affected by cancer in one way or another, whether you’re a survivor or you have a family member, friend or colleague that has beaten cancer or lost the battle. And according to Breastcancer.org, a nonprofit that provides up-to-date information about breast cancer, approximately one out of every eight women in the United States will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month was founded in 1985 with the aim of promoting mammograms as an effective tool in the fight against breast cancer. Over the years, the pink ribbon has become a symbol for breast cancer, and every October a variety of events are held around the world to raise money for breast cancer programs.

Terranea Resort Turns Pink for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Ever year, various companies and beauty brands release limited-edition products in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, as well as donate a portion of proceeds towards breast cancer research and organizations. For 2020, we’ve put together a list of different beauty brands and products that are making a difference during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

This month, retail therapy is going to feel more meaningful as your dollars go towards an important cause. From pink products and spa treatments to other initiatives, read on to browse and shop the various offerings to show your support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Attn: Grace

For the next month, Attn: Grace is dedicating 10% of sales to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation

As a brand dedicated to providing sustainable, effective solutions for bladder leakage, the brand has a close tie to this cause. Urinary incontinence symptoms are quite common in breast cancer survivors, and cancer treatments, especially chemotherapy, make skin incredibly sensitive/delicate—making traditional UI products unbearable for most.

The Attn: Grace team has been overwhelmed with the response from customers currently in treatment, who have found great comfort in the brand’s line. As champions of women’s health, Attn: Grace is proud to be supporting crucial research to prevent and cure breast cancer.

She shares her inspiring story below:

“In 2010, my career was in full swing. My work schedule was demanding and full of constant travel. This fast-paced lifestyle of mine was fueled by enthusiasm and positive energy—I truly loved my job. This all came to a halt upon learning at the age of 34, a chest pain which I believed to be a merely a pulled muscle or cyst, was actually Stage 3 Ductal Breast Cancer. To protect my positive energy, I chose to keep my cancer largely private. While I didn’t tell many about my health crisis, I did confide in a few people including my husband, mom, and new sisterhood at The Foundation Living Beauty. The Foundation Living Beauty was there to educate, uplift, and really empower me through my journey with cancer. Through this sisterhood, I started to recognize the importance of balancing my emotional well-being, work and cancer. I learned so much about myself. Being patient, not labeling things good or bad, and accepting everything that’s happened. This acceptance led to an even more powerful mindset, that there’s no start or end to healing. That is why after six years of being cancer-free, I continue to live a healthy lifestyle and maintain the mindset of living in the now. That’s why we’ve teamed up with the Foundation for Living Beauty to remind all women that it’s not about what you’ve lost, it’s about enhancing and loving what you have. Makeup isn’t about outward appearance, it’s about helping you feel beautiful.
